The Golden Mandate Movement (GMM), a prominent socio-political movement committed to grassroots mobilisation, empowerment and political development, will host a Mega Voter Sensitisation Rally and Endorsement of APC Candidates on Friday, 30 October 2026, at the Ikot Ekpene Sports Stadium, Akwa Ibom State.
The rally is expected to attract party faithful, political stakeholders, community leaders, youths, women and supporters from across Akwa Ibom State. It is designed to promote voter awareness, encourage active democratic participation and strengthen grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a release by its International Publicity Secretary, Comrade Sixtus Tom, KSM, the Movement stated that the Chairman of Chapter Chairmen, Engr. Enobong Patrick, will serve as Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, providing strategic leadership and coordination for the rally.
The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong, will chair the occasion, while the APC State Secretary and Grand Patron of GMM, Envoy Nsentip Akpabio, will serve as Chief Host.
The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, and the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, will be Special Guests of Honour, while all candidates of the APC and Local Government Chairmen, among others, will serve as Guests of Honour.
The Political Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs, Prince Godwin Ntuk Udeh, PhD, will be the guest speaker on the topic, “The Role of Grassroots Mobilization in Sustaining Democratic Governance and National Development”. The theme of the event is “Your Voice, Our Mandate: Mobilising the Grassroots for 2027 – No PVC, No Voice for Democratic Engagement and National Development”.
Comrade Tom said the event will sensitise eligible voters on the importance of obtaining and safeguarding their Permanent Voter Cards, participating peacefully in the electoral process, and making informed choices at the polls.
According to the Movement, the rally goes beyond a political gathering: it is a call to action for citizens to recognise the power of their votes, reject electoral apathy, shun violence, and embrace peaceful, lawful and issue-based participation in the democratic process.
The Movement invites all eligible voters, political stakeholders, community leaders, youths, women and other well-meaning citizens to be part of this historic gathering.
