The Movement swore in its executives at the Ati Annang International Secretariat, Ikot Ekpene, and announced six humanitarian programmes.
The Golden Mandate Movement (GMM) inaugurated its new executive members on Saturday, 4 July 2026, at the Ati Annang International Secretariat, Ikot Ekpene, and unveiled its agenda for grassroots mobilisation, political participation and community development.
Political leaders, stakeholders, party faithful, community leaders and supporters from across Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District attended the ceremony.
The Chairman of the Inauguration Planning Committee, Sir Emmanuel George Ekong, described the event as a milestone in the growth of the Movement. He said GMM already has structures across the ten local government areas and their wards, and that its formal inauguration followed its registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
In his inaugural address, the President of the Movement, Atuekong Dr. Anthony Leo Umana, KSM, traced GMM’s growth from the Friends of Envoy Nsentip Akpabio International Solidarity Foundation (FONABS), established in December 2025. He announced humanitarian programmes including free healthcare, micro-credit for small businesses, scholarships for indigent students, skills acquisition and housing support for vulnerable persons, designed to complement the ARISE Agenda of the Akwa Ibom State Government. He also announced plans to expand to the Uyo and Eket Senatorial Districts.
Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, Member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, chaired the occasion and was represented by Barr. Edet Inyangidem.
The Grand Patron, Envoy Nsentip Akpabio, urged members to distinguish themselves through selfless service, and announced an Educational Endowment Fund to support deserving students in tertiary institutions.
